Our Impact

Since 2009, ICEI has helped more than 32,000 children in 29 communities in Israel’s social periphery access the quality education they deserve.

Bridging the Achievement Gap

Israel has one of the highest correlations in the OECD between students’ socioeconomic status and their levels of academic achievement. ICEI consistently succeeds in reducing this correlation while raising achievement levels across the board.

Propelling Student Achievement

Our metrics demonstrate outstanding results, with 90% of students achieving significant progress after six years in ICEI’s programs.

Promoting Data-Driven Teaching

ICEI’s online data collection system, Medida, collects more student achievement data in elementary schools than any other program in Israel. It helps principals and teachers assess progress and individualize—or differentiate—teaching to meet each student’s needs.

Supporting Teachers to Excel

By transforming how they plan and teach their classes, ICEI Literacy Coaches have empowered more than 900 teachers to become highly effective educators. This results in increased success, motivation, and confidence for both teachers and students.

Transforming School Leadership

ICEI has supported more than 60 principals to create schoolwide change that accelerates student achievement. Our Principal Mentors train principals to become high-impact leaders who turn their schools around, positively impacting current and future generations of students.

Cultivating Cohesive School Communities

Our programs help parents become active partners in their children’s education and in the wider school community. Through community outreach, we strengthen the school-home nexus and build mutual trust among faculty, parents, and children.

Bridging the Literacy Gap Starting in First Grade

At the start of first grade, there is a clear correlation between socioeconomic status and core literacy skills, with students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds often underperforming. By the end of the first grade in ICEI’s network of schools, the achievement gap has been erased. Across all socioeconomic levels, there is a remarkable improvement in academic performance.
