Overview
ICEI transforms low
income underperforming Israeli elementary schools in order to provide equal
educational opportunity to some of Israel’s most disadvantaged students.
ICEI programs represent the most comprehensive intervention to improve school leadership and teaching methodologies in Israel today.
ICEI supports participating schools over a 5-7 year period, providing a principal mentor to help lead a deep process of change and supporting teaching staff through on-site literacy coaches while also engaging parents in their children’s education. These collectively result in a culture of success and high expectations, vastly improved instruction and school management, and higher academic outcomes.
Students who graduate from ICEI programs are confident and articulate, love books, reading and writing, and have excellent command of both the literacy and general learning skills they will need throughout their lives.
