ICEI is Israel's leader in improving elementary school instruction and leadership and in turning around underperforming low-income elementary schools. Founded in 2009, ICEI programs now operate in 27 schools in 14 municipalities, serving more than 7,500 students. Most of the schools in our network have significant concentrations of Ethiopian-Israeli students and are part of the government's New Way framework for improving integration of the Ethiopian-Israeli community.
ICEI also partners with the Fidel Association for Education and Social Integration of Ethiopian Jews in Israel to strengthen the community of Ethiopian-Israeli parents of students in participating schools, and to enhance parents' ability to support their children's learning.
While there is a significant correlation between the socio-economic status of schools and levels of academic achievement before ICEI programs begin, ICEI has consistently succeeded in erasing that correlation, while raising achievement levels across the board.
